to Stanegate Hideaways.
Stretching across northern England, through some of the country's most spectacular scenery, The Stanegate is the Roman road linking Corbridge, Vindolanda and Carlisle and is believed to pre-date Hadrian's Wall having been built by the Emperor Agricola in around AD 78, and thus linking our cottage in Hexham, our cottage and Hideaway Hut at Huntercrook, and indeed our own home in the hamlet of Thorngrafton. Here you will find a wealth of history: an abundance of wildlife: rugged moorlands and beautiful valleys, against a back-cloth of dark skies; - spaces to explore and excite every sense - peace to relax and enjoy Nature at her most glorious and awe-inspiring. Whether you want to Walk the Wall, explore historical sites or just hide from the rat-race, Stanegate Hideaways provide the perfect places for escape, where you and your family will be most welcome! And if you really have to bring your work with you, we have wi-fi so you can access the internet.
